Directions

  • Dig in with a finger tip and scoop out a dime size amount.
  • Evenly distribute through damp or dry sectioned hair before locing, twisting or braiding.

8.7.23 - Our Aethiopika Hydrate & Twist Butter has been tweaked to further reduce the likelihood of crystallization resulting in a softer, smoother texture.

8.17.22 - Our Aethiopika Hydrate & Twist Butter now has a smoother texture! We tweaked the formula a bit to lessen the likelihood that certain ingredients in the formula would crystalize after exposure to extreme heat or cold and develop a grainy texture. While the new texture may still crystalize a bit, it won't be as extreme as the previous formula.

We pride ourselves on our high-quality formulas, using only the purest, most beneficial ingredients for hair care. Our Aethiopika Hydrate & Twist Butter is a semi-firm butter with a creamy/pasty texture but if exposed to high temperatures during transit, it may melt and crystalize, creating an uneven or mottled texture or grainy feel. This is not indicative of a formula change and will not affect performance. To remedy this, remove lid and place your jar in a microwave for about 10-25 seconds or until liquid. Return tightened lid, shake vigorously and place in a refrigerator for about an hour or allow to cool at room temperature for about 2 hours. The resultant texture will be semi-firm and smooth again. If you don"t want to heat, shake and cool, that's fine too. You can use the product as is and eliminate the graininess by rubbing the butter between your fingers before application.
